Root Canal Treatment in Noosa

At The Dental Junction, we want to help you keep your smile healthy for your lifetime. Our conservative approach prioritises saving your natural teeth whenever possible. If you have an infection that has set into the tooth, you may not need to have it extracted. A root canal treatment can address a damaged tooth while keeping it intact.

Are You a Candidate for a Root Canal?

There are certain situations or signs that indicate this treatment is appropriate:

  • An abscess
  • Hypersensitive teeth
  • A chronic toothache
  • Severe decay
  • A cracked tooth
  • A dental trauma

The danger of leaving the tooth untreated is that you may face the tooth being destroyed from the inside. Your adjacent teeth may also be infected. By addressing the tooth in question, you can save your smile from more extensive dental work in the future.

What to Expect During Treatment

At your appointment, we will numb the area around the tooth we will be working on. If you have a severe infection, we may prescribe antibiotics beforehand. As soon as you are comfortable, we’ll clean out the infected area of the tooth. We’ll fill the site, then seal it off to prevent bacteria from reentering.

Much of your tooth’s structure may need to be removed during your root canal treatment. To restore its stability and strength, we’ll place a porcelain crown over the tooth. This restoration is custom-created in our laboratory to fit seamlessly in with the rest of your smile.

Get Started Today

The only way to know whether you need root canal treatments is to make an appointment. We’ll take an X-ray to determine the extent of the damage, and perform various biting tests to pinpoint the source of the pain. Contact us today!
